Gears Of War 4 System Requirements Reveal It Needs 80GB Of Hard Drive Space

If you’re considering getting Gears of War 4 for PC you better have a lot of hard drive space free. The upcoming game will require 80GB of free hard drive space as a bare minimum.

The system requirements went live over on the GeForce website, spotted by Blues. The minimum, recommended and ideal specs give you an idea of what you’ll need from your PC to make the game run right on your system.

OS: Windows 10 Anniversary Ed.
DirectX: DirectX 12

GPU: GeForce GTX 750 Ti
HDD: 80 GB free
Monitor: 1920×1080

OS: Windows 10 Anniversary Ed.

GPU: GeForce GTX 980 Ti or GeForce GTX 1080
RAM: 16 GB
HDD: SSD with 80 GB free
Monitor: 3840×2160

You will need Windows 10 Anniversary Edition installed. There’s no two ways around that. You’ll also need DirectX 12 installed. There’s no two ways around that one either.

Things start to get hefty when the CPU and GPU come into the picture, with a GTX 750 Ti being the absolute bare minimum to run the game, along with 8GB of RAM. You’ll also need an i5 3.0ghz CPU to power The Coalition’s upcoming third-person shooter.

The recommended specs are about the same, save for an i5 at 3.5ghz, and a GTX 970 with 4GB of VRAM in order to run the game at a 2K resolution.

The ideal specs are designed for those looking to run the game at native 4K, 3840 x 2160. 16GB of system RAM and a GTX 980 Ti along with an i7 is what you’ll need to run Gears of War 4 above and beyond the casual resolutions.

The game hasn’t really impressed me much, and so far it’s come across as kind of cheesy, bright and light compared to previous entries in the franchise, especially the first two games.

So far the horror vibes that helped separate Gears of War from all the other shooter fodder out there has been replaced with more lighthearted banter and some goofy robot enemies. There are still some Locust-style baddies in the form of the Swarm, but they feel about as authentic as the fake Razor Ramon and Diesel.

You can look for Gears of War 4 to launch on Windows 10 and Xbox One starting October 11th next week.
