Galactic Junk League Announces Steam Release Date

Developers Pixel Federation is gearing up to launch their online multiplayer spaceship arena battle game Galactic Junk League, onto Steam after officially announcing the release date.

Galactic Junk League is a free-to-play action shooter game about building a spaceship out of scraps, teaming up with other players, and then competing in combat for victory. The more battles you win the more content you will unlock as you progress through the game. You will have 5 unlockable ship classes that have their own set of pieces that you can use to upgrade your ship, ranging from the Rookie class, Frigates, Cruisers, Battleships and then Destroyer ships.

The modules to build and customize your ships reminds me a bit of Legos because you can snap on additional pieces to your ship to add more weapons, armor or… well, junk to your ship to customize it the way you want. The developers released a trailer that shows off the combat and also gives a glimpse at the ship customization process. Check out the video that I linked below.

Galactic Junk League will feature five Vs five player Vs player arena, and currently has maps for you to battle through. The five class ships has hundreds of pieces for you to mix and match to create some pretty interesting looking ships. I’m really interested in seeing how Galactic Junk League will progress in the future and what type of new ship parts and stages they will add.

I am really curious to see all the different ship combinations players will create using the ship builder and just how crazy they can really get when building their custom junk ship. The developers put together another video that talks about abilities and the basic controls to control your ship, and of course actual combat. Take a look at the second video below to learn how to play.

I recommend checking out their YouTube channel to see the other videos they put up.

Galactic Junk League announced on their Steam Greenlight forum that they will release the game on January 17th, 2017 for Steam users, so the wait to jump in and play isn’t that far. For those of you that can’t wait that long, you can go ahead and download the installer now from the official Galactic Junk League website. It looks like the servers are already up and running so you can play the World Beta version right now.
