Telltale’s Guardians Of The Galaxy Arrives In Early 2017
(Last Updated On: December 3, 2016)

Fans of Telltale’s The Walking Dead have been treated to news recently that season 3 kicks off on December 20th for home consoles, PC and mobile devices. It’s a comforting bit of news for the lovers of the undead series. Well, for gamers looking for a more upbeat and entertaining experience that isn’t a hollowed out tree trunk of death and despair, Telltale has another series due for release in early 2017… Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series.

The five episode first season will launch on home consoles, PC and mobile devices as usual. They don’t reveal a darn thing about the new series, but they did write about it with a hint of enthusiasm over on their official website.

Kevin Bruner, co-founder and CEO of Telltale Games, explained in the announcement a little bit of what gamers can expect from Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series

“In Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, players will take on multiple roles within the ragtag band of heroes, and take the pilot’s seat in directing their escapades around the universe. We are always honored to be working with the best creative partners and storytellers in entertainment, and working with Marvel on this series leaves us excited to share what we’ve been developing when it premieres in 2017.”

As mentioned, they don’t actually reveal anything but you do get to see a flying walkman in space in the teaser trailer below.

So who wants to take bets on whether or not this will underperform Telltale’s The Walking Dead: Season 3 but outperform Batman: The Telltale Series and Tales From The Borderlands? Huh, any takers?

Speaking of Batman: The Telltale Series, the game’s first season is set to wrap up by the end of this year. They mentioned previously that the fifth and final episode will launch by December 31st if things go over well. This means that there’s going to be a small bit of crossover between The Walking Dead: Season 3, which airs on December 20th, and the final episode of Batman.

They don’t say exactly when in early 2017 Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series will debut, but I’m guessing it’s going to start just as The Walking Dead: Season 3 – A New Frontier is ending.

You’ll have to stay tuned in for more info regarding Telltale’s latest big project, which is due out for home consoles, PC and mobile devices… as usual.

Am I the only one that’s starting to get fucking sick of TellTale Choose Your Own Adventure games?

No you are not, however there are no longer fanboys screaming about them these days so its not difficult to go

Life is strange was harder to swallow with the whole media gushing about that bag of tripe

On the positive side, getting them for a buck a year or two later in a humble bundle and playing them during a weekend without having to deal with the episodic nature makes them surprisingly more enjoyable

I have not played one of them without having all episodes, even if i played all released episodes by taking my time, like say one every 2-3 days, it would be too long for the final episode to come out.

Well, i liked the wolf among us more than walking dead, then tale of the borderlands was awesome, now this one is great but i would prefer one set in shadowrun.

If you want to say they are too simplistic, expensive and take forever to come out, i will agree with you. But if you play alot of open world grind fests, some good narrative with fun moments are nice every now and then.
