Bandai Namco came forth and announced information regarding Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization’s upcoming DLC named Shrine Maiden of the Abyss. The elements listed are features the devs want to add to the game via DLC. Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization is out now for PS4 and PS Vita.
Thanks to publication site gamestalk.net we learn some information as to what Bandai Namco plans for SAO the game and its next DLC — namely Shrine Maiden of the Abyss. The features listed include dungeons, better graphical equipment, more field content, EX sword skills, and much more.
Last thing before jumping into the features, the DLC is set to drop around the time of the Third Sacrament update that is scheduled to release during February.
Dungeons and Fields
It is noted that Enigma Orders are parts scattered all over the world at fixed times, which upon obtaining them you can enhance your equipment. Mimic Hunting is also planned for the DLC along with invisible products that can reveal invisible enemies. Bamco also mention that Abyss dungeons are also in consideration and will be very dark while exploring, containing nice rewards by defeating enemies.
Added EX Sword Skills
According to the site it is noted that upon clearing trails your Sword Skills will evolve and upgrade to have additional operations.
New Abilities and More Define Roles
Your hero will be able to grow in Trials, which sees new abilities for tanks to guard all party members, healers to support a target through maintaining restoration and increasing the amount of power they can withstand, and buffers to be able to special lock enemies.
New High-Difficulty Elements
Overlord Class – Features tougher than normal enemies.
Myth Class – Contains near impossible enemies to defeat.
Bamco also made mention of infinite dungeons that I’m sure, if implemented, will bring a great deal of challenges ahead.
As the name implies, Bamco seeks to add even more unique character specific legendary equipment. This includes more legendary armor, aura weapons, special effects, battle skills, the ability to fuse armor with secret stones and much more.
Dating and Buffs
Depending on the atmosphere, when on a date you will receive a longer lasting buff that grants better stats. Conversations during dates will be longer as well as evening conversations. According to Producer Yosuke Futami, Argo will be added, which is also accompanied by an “increase of the number of pillow talk characters.”
Other features include item changes and new areas, along with specials and skill effects changing. But it’s worth mentioning that all of the feature listed above may or may not make it into the game’s DLC seeing how Bamco noted that they are currently in “consideration stage”, which we could see half of these feature if not new unmentioned features in Shrine Maiden of the Abyss.
