Sky Rogue Beta 1 Brings New Content And Fixes

Sky Rogue by Fractal Phase has been out for some time now, holding a release date of July 30th, 2015. Fast forward to February 23rd of this year and we see that the game has entered its official Beta 1 stage. The Beta 1 brings new content and revises some older features, propelling the game closer to exiting Early Access.

Yes, Sky Rogue follows the typical Steam Early Access tropes of perpetually staying in Early Access and sporting procedurally generated maps, but it seems to be trying to get out of Early Access through its Beta 1 program — that only took two years to reach.

Designed with a low-poly count in mind, the fly-em-up game brings a variety of air battles to the table. These battles take place over land, sea and flying fortresses, where players will go toe-to-toe with adversaries that range from a wide variety of shapes and forms.

If you haven’t heard of this arcade shoot’em up game before the description for it sits below.

“A fwooshy, intense, procedurally generated fly-em-up. Blow things up over land, sea, and air, on an infinite number of procedurally-generated islands. Go toe-to-toe with enemy aces or assault giant flying aircraft carriers, but watch out for volleys of missiles; when you die, you’re dead.”

This now brings us to the new trailer for the game that was recently posted up to reflect the changes (which some are listed below the video) in Beta 1.

Some of the new stuff found in Beta 1 consist of new biomes, models for weapons, skins, UI changes and an endboss that uses a new super weapon. These changes are made to make the game much better, although it would have seemed like this would have been done during late 2015 or 2016, but I guess it’s better to happen now than never.

Anyways, the game is available right now over on Steam Early Access with a 10 percent special that drops its price down from $9.99 to $8.99. You can read the full Beta 1 notes over on Steam’s Community news page.
