Injustice 2 Firestorm Revealed With New Footage

NetherRealm Studios unveiled the latest character to join the Injustice 2 roster, Firestorm. The new character was spotlighted recently in a 12 minute video, exclusively on the UpUpDownDown Youtube channel, hosted by Xavier Woods, AKA Austin Creed.

The video starts with Austin/Xavier giving gamers a slight tour of NetherRealm Studios while his WWE co-stars tag along and film themselves posing with some of the memorabilia sprinkled throughout the studio space.

Eventually they meet Ed Boon, the creative director for Mortal Kombat and Injustice 2 and he reveals to them that his favorite character is none other than *drum roll*… Scorpion.

You can check out the video below. It’s 12 minutes but it’s both informative and entertaining.

After lathering Ed Boon in a lot of fanboy praise, they eventually get to the reveal of Firestorm at the five minute mark.

The character can fly around the , blast people down and utilize a lot of flame-oriented attacks.

Sadly we don’t actually get to see much of the character in action, due to all the UpUpDownDown antics, but there do have a second video up for Firestorm showing a minute’s worth of gameplay for the character. You can check that out below.

The character seems okay… there wasn’t enough of him showcased to get a good feel for his combos, specials and playability. Hopefully we’ll get to see more of him later (well, obviously we’ll get to see more of him later).

Separately, more Aquaman footage also recently made its way into a compilation video. He’s one of the least talked about characters on the roster and he also looks the lamest. You can check out the footage below.

Aquaman has a really cool special but boy oh boy did they make him look lame.

I really hope his other skins do him some justice. I always preferred the long haired, bearded look. It matches the whole underwater king theme.

Injustice 2 is due for release on May 16th for the PS4 and Xbox One.
