(Last Updated On: March 31, 2017)

The new official website for WipEout Omega Collection has now officially announced the release date and showcased a new trailer on the PlayStation YouTube channel.

WipEout is a futuristic series that has been running since the early PlayStation years, with the original WipEout releasing back in 1995; there’s a total of nine games in the series. WipEout Omega Collection will be the 10th game in the series, and features quite a few upgrades and changes. The new WipEout Omega Collection will feature enhanced graphics for the PS4 and PS4 Pro. Additionally, the new Omega collection game will also feature content from WipEout HD, WipEout HD Fury, and WipEout 2048.

WipEout Omega Collection will feature 26 reversible circuits, 46 unique ships, as well as the ability to play with a friend in local two-player split screen action, or online with up to eight other players. WipEout Omega Collection will also feature nine different game modes, such as Zone, Tournament, Speed Lap, Time Trial, and Single Race from WipEout HD, as well as Zone Battle, Eliminator, and Detonator from WipEout HD Fury, and the Career Mode from WipEout 2048. That’s a lot of content!

The soundtrack will feature classic music from the original series, but the developers say that it will also feature more modern music from up-and-coming artist, such as music from the Swedish House Mafia, Chemical Brothers, and The Prodigy, just to name a few.

As mentioned above, the official PlayStation YouTube channel released a video today that showcases some gameplay footage for the new WipEout Omega Collection, take a look at the video trailer that I linked down below.

  • Well, at least wipEout is still getting made…

*sigh* Nintendo, why aren’t you fools working on a new F-Zero?

Might be one of their secret projects. They said they’re having a big E3 this year, so if they felt the need to announce it, maybe they have something special planned? Or…. maybe they’re just building hype… :/

      • Whatever the case, I’d say the Blue Falcon and all the others have spent way too god damned long in the garage gathering rust. It’s about time we had a new season of the Grand Prix.

I am getting my racer fix from GRIP (Steam) these days. So I am glad they bring back Wipeout to PS4 🙂
