One of the many games that started on Steam Greenlight and has now launched on Steam (not Early Access) is Ogre Head Studio and Coconut Island Games’ Asura. The top-down hack-and-slash game is currently out now for PC.
Way back on July 28th, 2016, Asura entered Steam Greenlight and was looking for votes to pass through that particular stage of Steam. Not too long after the game went up on Greenlight we covered the indie title. After the media shed some light on the game — and with others finding interest in Asura — the indie title passed through Greenlight with ease.
Fast forward to April 14th, 2017 and we now have the indie game made by Ogre Head Studio and Coconut Island Games, Asura, officially on Steam. To be honest here, it’s very interesting to see a game grow from a small concept and into a bigger release, and gain gamers’ trust along the way.
Moreover, Asura’s official description explaining the setting and gameplay sits below.
“Asura is an indie top-down hack ‘n’ slash game based on a fantasy setting inspired by Indian mythology. It features heavy rogue-like elements and a procedural skill tree which changes on every play through.”
Now that you know the basic concept or premise behind Asura, the newly released game can be further investigated by watching a review that SidAlpha has up. The video explores a lot of aspects of Asura and if the game is worth picking up or not.
As of right now the top-down hack and slash game is out for PC via Steam, and is running a 10 percent off special that brings its initial price down from $9.99 down to $8.99, which is set to end on April 20th. For additional information partitioning to Asura you can hit up asurathegame.com.
