Injustice 2 Brainiac Trailer Hints At A Much Better Story Than Batman V Superman

NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Entertainment released the latest promotional trailer for Injustice 2 as they head toward the May 16th launch date. The trailer features a look at Brainiac’s plan to take over Earth while various other factions fight amongst themselves for the scraps left behind a fractured Justice League and a nearly dismantled Regime.

The two minute trailer has received almost nothing but positive feedback from the gaming community for how intense and cool the story seems. There’s no denying that mixing in multiple villains and factions together and having them go head-to-head seems extremely thrilling.

We see that while Gorilla Grodd and his uprising known as The Society has their plans impeded by the arrival of Brainiac. Originally Grodd was going to overthrow the remnants of the Justice League following the tragic events of the first Injustice, and he also planned to completely destroy what’s left of Superman’s authoritarian Regime. However, Brainiac has other plans, and it includes no remorse, no prisoners and no survivors.

The events lead Kara going to the Justice League to seek their help in freeing Superman from his red-sun prison, since they’ll need his help in defeating Brainiac.

Batman then goes to Superman to find out how to defeat the alien invader, but Superman tells him that he can’t.

The two enemies then decide to team up to take on Brainiac’s forces.

What we don’t know is if Superman – during his escape – will attempt to revive his Regime and attempt to establish control again, or if it’ll be usurped by Gorilla Grodd and his Society.

Already, a lot of people are saying all the complexities and layers of the story are way better than what was depicted in Batman v Superman.

It’s hard not to agree with people ragging on BvS given that the story trailers for Injustice 2 have only gotten better and better and it looks like NetherRealm is attempting to tell a serious, intense story involving the DC Universe.

We’ll see how well this all comes together when the game launches on May 16th for the Xbox One and PS4.
