Injustice 2 Trailer Sees Darkseid Beating The Crap Out Of Brainiac
Injustice 2 - Darkseid

I don’t know if Darkseid will play any part in the story that unfolds in Injustice 2, but the latest trailer spotlighting the god among the inhabitants of Apokalpse is thoroughly impressive.

Rarely do boss characters in fighting games come across as imposing and domineering. Usually they’re made to be cheap and annoying, but in this case, Darkseid looks like the kind of boss that will beat the crap out of you and get bored while doing so. They actually showcase Darkseid being pitted against the main villain of Injustice 2, Brainiac. The two go at it, but the galactic collector is no match for the ruler of the land of fire and brimstone.

Darkseid looks really good here in the trailer. He comes across as stern, unwavering; a forceful menace with a brutish penchant for violence.

It’s funny how weak Brainiac looks in comparison to Darkseid.

Every aspect of Darkseid’s moveset also comes across as absolutely pragmatic. He uses one hand to pimp-slap the spittle out of people, and manages to even zap Wonder Woman from behind after she attempts to block the Omega beam cannons.

His grab moves consist to filling up the faces of his opponents with death rays, and he has a bevy of counter moves and anti-air and anti-ground attacks to keep his foes off balance.

I was surprised at how strong and yet balanced the character appears to be. He seems like a tactical fighter where you’ll need to focus on picking and choosing the right attacks at the right times in order to defeat opponents. He’s a bit slow off the start, though, so rush attacks aren’t going to be heavy in his arsenal, and his combos are a bit short, so you’ll need to focus heavily on counter-attacks and a variety of ground-to-air strikes.

You can expect to get your hands on Injustice 2 starting May 16th for the Xbox One and PS4.
