In a recent interview that director Atsushi Miyauchi took up with publication site Gamer, we were able to learn about some of the specs and differences between the PS4 and PS4 Pro versions of Dynasty Warriors 9. This news was also accompanied with some new screenshots. Koei Tecmo and Omega Force’s Dynasty Warriors 9 is set to come out for PS4 and currently has no release date.
Catching wind from Gematsu, who posted up a translation of the interview between director Atsushi Miyauchi and publication site gamer.com.tw, some extra information explaining the game and how the PS4 and PS4 Pro versions differ in FPS and resolution are up for your reading pleasure.
According to the former site, Dynasty Warriors 9 is said to sport 4K resolution running at 30fps for the PS4 Pro, or you can settle for 1080p resolution running at 60fps.
It is said that Dynasty Warriors 9 is an improved port of the PS3 base version, but they’re also taking their time to develop and tailor it specifically for PS4.
The site also noted that although the game is being expanded on from the PS3 base version, the title will be running on a new engine that has been completely revamped. Existing resources, though, are said to be in use and will be improved upon.
As for all 83 warlords that appeared in Dynasty Warriors 8: Extreme Legends… they will also appear in Dynasty Warriors 9. However, new warlords like Cheng Pu and Zhou Cang will appear also, but the total number of new warlords has not been revealed yet.
The game is also “said” to look better than Nioh. Speaking of Nioh, the devs do not plan to add online multiplayer elements. This includes asynchronous online elements like that in Nioh and Toukiden.
Screenshots showing Dynasty Warriors 9 can be seen below, which come from publication site gamer.com.tw.
Dynasty Warriors 9 is set to come out for PS4 and currently has no release date, but as of this moment the game is 40% done according to the devs.
