Square Enix during a live stream from Osake revealed some interesting things about the long running series of Dragon Quest. This time around it was about the latest game to jump into the series that goes by the name of Dragon Quest XI: In Search of Departed Time. The live stream revealed well over 20 minutes of the RPG and explores both the console and handheld versions, too.
Thanks to publication site Gematsu we learn a bit more about the game. For starters, before development for Dragon Quest XI, the staff went to Machu Picchu and stirred up some inspiration while at the place and noted that gamers might see destinations in-game representing said location.
Moreover, a new monster was revealed that goes by the name of “Incarnations of Time”. Players are said to encounter them throughout various stages in DQXI’s world, but the devs did not want to elaborate on the monsters too much, given that it would enter spoiler territory.
The publication site also touched on different towns or cities that will be featured in the game, which as of this moment stands to be around 20. The 20 places include villages, towns and castles, but we also learn that a burning village that takes up a Jipang-esque look is in the game and will play a pivotal role in the game’s story.
