Dynasty Warriors 9 Trailer Reveals Combat And Open World Scenes

Koei Tecmo has released a new trailer for Omega Force’s Dynasty Warriors 9. The new trailer explores both combat and the heavily talked about open world feature that is now present in the ninth canonical edition of Dynasty Warriors. Dynasty Warriors 9 is set to come out for PS4 in Japan and currently has no release date.

Folks who are eager to learn more about Dynasty Warriors 9 might just find something new in the latest overview that Koei Tecmo published to accompany the trailer. The company noted in the overview that there is a unification to the classic, time-tested action that is iconic to the Warriors series coupled with a new open world feature.

In addition to the above, familiar characters will also make an appearance along with an Interactive Action System. Players will be able to fully utilize their surroundings for the first time, which includes climbing walls, mountains, destroying explosive objects, and using a grappling hook to reach places that would otherwise be inaccessible.

Dynasty Warriors 9 will sport new combat mechanics that still revolve around a single soldier against thousands. The new mechanics are said to integrate the State Combo System with three different attack styles — Trigger Attacks, Flow Attacks and Finish Attacks — each dealing significant damage.

Koei Tecmo also explained that players will be able to create the start of an explosive combo by using Trigger Attacks, leading to Flow Attacks, which adapt to the enemy’s current state, and then, if successful, combos that transcend into a Finish Attack. A Finish Attack delivers a final blow that decimates any foe caught in its path.

Below is the latest trailer showing some footage of combat and scenes of the newly implemented open world that is now present in Dynasty Warriors 9.

Dynasty Warriors 9 is set to launch for PS4 over in Japan. Both Japan and the West have no set release date, which the latter region has no specific platforms yet announced.
