If 2D shoot ’em up games are something that you may happen to fancy, especially if they are indie made, then I think Botlike – A Robot’s Rampage is something worth keeping an eye on. Botlike is set to release for PC through Steam Early Access this Summer.
A robot on a rampage that loots his enemies after annihilation comes in a video game package titled Botlike – A Robot’s Rampage. The game sporting dark desolate 2D landscapes, illuminated by various dimly lit light sources uncover the League — a super intelligent robot force — in which the battle of an old robot versus a new wave of machina after all humankind has been wiped out on Earth, sees you, the player, assuming this old bot in a fight for survival.
“Botlike – loot and shoot your way through hordes of robots or die trying. Play as S.I.R. – a grumpy old warbot on his path to revenge. Use your ever-growing arsenal of weapons, upgrades and powerful items to defeat an evil and totalitarian robot league. Grab your top hat and let the rampage begin.”
The game opts for a fast-paced shoot ’em up setup mixed with roguelike elements like permadeath and randomized levels to offer something fresh on each playthrough.
Having to adapt to Botlike’s difficulty that can range depending on the enemy at hand can be dealt with through the game’s wide arsenal of weapons. The array of guns can be upgraded to bring pure devastation upon the League when the going gets tough.
Before jumping into the trailer, the game encourages you to double jump, scavenge, dash past enemy fire and environmental obstacles, and search for super items to survive against the onslaught of your foe. With that said, you can check out the latest trailer by Binji.
