SCS Software announced that a new map is on the way for Euro Truck Simulator 2. The map is based on Italy and it’s appropriately called the “Italia” expansion. The new location will take players through Italy’s rich and diverse landscapes, ranging from the beautiful mountainsides, to the lush shorelines, to the idyllic farmlands.

There will be a mixture of both rural locations and urban environments where the concrete tunels and bridges will give gamers a mixture of modern day commercial districts and classic scenic vistas.

There’s a trailer that they released featuring 34 seconds of parody content, where two guys are watching soccer on an outdoor projector and just as their favorite player is about to score a truck drives by and they get angry.

It’s a silly trailer but it’s obviously designed to help give players a little bit of a teaser of what’s to come. Some screenshots also show off some of Italy’s unique architecture and some of the industry-related locations you can travel through.

There don’t offer any details on the pricing but it’s likely coming soon.

Some players are still paying around with mods for standard Euro Truck Simulator, including the new double trailers. YouTuber Squirrel does a video on the new doubles trailers that you can check out below.

There’s about seven minutes of just trying to get the truck coupled to the double trailers, so that’s an interesting thing to see, especially with how little room he has to actually get out of the lot.

It’s really fascinating finding out that the beta updates made it possible to add doubles and triple trailers, but they didn’t really think through the gas stations and pickup stations, which are still only designed for single trailers.

Anyway, the Italia map is set to launch for Euro Truck Simulator 2. You can learn more about the game by hitting up the Steam store page.
