In a recent interview by another publication site, we learned that Pete Hines, Vice President of marketing and PR of Bethesda, came forth to announce that a new title or game that has never been discussed will come out later this year. No word on platform, release date or genre has been detailed yet.
Given past times of both Todd Howard and Pete Hines acknowledging The Elder Scrolls 6 will not happen anytime soon, fans can rule out that that game will not be the one to come later this year. We also know that this new game will not release sometime during 2018.
In addition to the above, we know this thanks to publication site GameRant catching wind from a video interview that Tek Syndicate struck up with vice president of Bethesda, Pete Hines, at PAX West 2017 who briefly discussed the above in said interview.
According to Tek Syndicate’s interview with VP of Bethesda, the secret game scheduled to release in 2017 is unannounced and has yet to be revealed to the public. The game is said to be under tight wraps and will come to fruition later this year.
Here’s what Hines had to say about the game during the interview:
“We have a ton of stuff going on, and we even have a game coming out this year that we haven’t even told anybody about yet”.
GameRant noted that when pressed about the matter, Hines did not give in to the query and instead danced around it and made mention that it won’t be long before folks will find out about it and that “It can wait – it won’t be so long.”
At the moment, there’s no word on whether it’s a new IP (intellectual property) from the company or if it is being published by them like Tango Gameworks’ The Evil Within 2.
Are you excited for this new game or do you think that it will be like Doom VR and Fallout 4 VR? However it goes, a new game that includes Bethesda will release sometime during the latter part of this year (2017).
