If you think you have what it takes to battle the Japanese in their home territory, playing their games, situated amongst their crowd, and trying to battle through understanding their language, maybe you can put your mettle to the test by registering right now to participate in EVO Japan’s 2018 tournament series.
The website has recently opened up the registration page over on the EVO-Japan.net portal.
Registration will last from now up until December 31st, 2017. So you have plenty of time to mull over whether or not you want to travel halfway around the world just get to your butt beat by someone half your size.
They also note that if you need help setting up accommodations, they offer some useful tips via a 4Gamer guide.
You can then submit your registration details through the Smash.gg FGC portal.
Now you don’t have to be an adult to participate. Anyone over the age of 12 is welcome to register and showcase their skill at the upcoming EVO Japan 2018 event. However, anyone under the age of 18 will need a legal guardian present in order to participate.
The tournament will take place over the course of three days, between January 26th, 2018 and January 28th, 2018 on Japanese Standard Time.
Seven games will be featured in the tournament, including the following:
- TEKKEN 7
- GUILTY GEAR Xrd REV 2
- THE KING OF FIGHTERS XIV
- BLAZBLUE CENTRALFICTION
- STREET FIGHTER V
- Super Smash Bros. for Wii U on Wii U
It’s nice to see ARMS on the list. They have good tastes in fighters. It’s also good to see that Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite didn’t make the cut, they knew they didn’t have enough healthcare facilicties to treat all tournament goers for cancer.
You can scope out all the details over on the website, or start practicing as you prep for the trip over to the land of the rising sun for 2018’s big opening FGC tournament set to take place in January.
