If you can decipher moon runes and have a penchant for the masked riders doing battle against each other in a battle-arena environment featuring multiple players, then you’ll probably want to keep your eyes peeled for Kamen Rider Climax Fighters, which is due for release exclusively on the PS4 this December.
The PR account on Twitter for the Kamen Rider games tweeted out Bandai Namco’s latest 30 second teaser video for the upcoming Kamen Rider Climax Fighters. You can check out the cinematic teaser trailer below, which only features a small sampling of the actual gameplay at the tail end of the trailer.
A large portion of the 30 second teaser is setting up the masked Riders going head-to-head. We get to see some of the different iterations of the Kamen Riders unleashing their skill in some quick clips before the very last few seconds of the trailer showcases the multiplayer fighting game where they’re duking it out in a shipping container yard, where all four of the Riders are utilizing their skills to win the fight.
The four-player fighting game is similar to Gundam Versus, insofar that it’s an arena-based fighting game, which seems to be a go-to sub-genre these days when it comes to licensed properties in Japan. Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure also recently received the same treatment with Eyes of Heaven for the PS4.
Even though we don’t get to see much of the actual gameplay, some of the comments from gamers on the Twitter page noted that graphically the game looked like something resurrected out of a broken PS3. I mean, it’s possible the game may look better than the small clip at the end of the segment, but this certainly doesn’t seem like one of those games that will be much more than a fan-service cash-in.
We’ll find out exactly what the game will have in store when they reveal the actual gameplay footage during a live-stream set to take place next weekend on Saturday morning, featuring the two main Riders.
As mentioned at the top of the article, Kamen Rider: Climax Fighters is set to release in Japan on December 7th at the end of the year, exclusively for the PlayStation 4. Feel free to visit the official website to stay tuned in for more info about the live-stream.
