Warframe Guide: Here’s How To Mine On The Plains Of Eidolon

The Plains of Eidolon update that Digital Extremes released brings another side to Warframe that adds mining. If you don’t know how to utilize this new feature and dig up new materials, this guide aims to help you. Warframe is out now for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Starting from scratch, head to Earth and go to Cetus. From here, head to the market center place of the Plains of Eidolon and take up Bounties to earn and accumulate Ostron standing points. You will need 500 Ostron points at max to get a hold of a Nosam Cutter from Old Man Suumbaat.

Nosam Cutter

Make sure to equip the Nosam Cutter in your Gear section before going out. The whole point behind this tool is that it uses enhanced cybernetics to locate nearby “materials” and “ore veins”, and has a chance to retrieve rare Eidolon gems.

Mining Tips and Tricks

First Tip: If you look over to the left side of your HUD there will be icons indicating how many materials/resources are in that exact area.

Second Tip: Looking over to the right side of your HUD, you should see a number in meters detailing how far you are in distance from the nearest resource. This is helpful if you like to use the audio the tool emits and the number of meters to pin-point the exact location of whatever it is you are after.

Third Tip: Make sure to keep an eye out for color patches. For instance, Red patches are minerals and metals that are used for crafting. The Blue patches are gems and happen to be used for increasing standing points.

Quick Video Guide

A quick video detailing the whole process of mining and how to use the Nosam Cutter to cut out materials can be seen below, which the video comes in by Quite Shallow.
