The Last Guardian Developers Are Hiring For Their “Next Project”

The developers best known for Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian happens to be looking for folks to help out via job listings for a new project that is currently in the works. No release date, setting or platforms have been announced yet.

Catching wind from publication site GameRant, information surrounding a new title from Fumito Ueda’s studio genDESIGN seems to be under constructions at this very moment.

According to the publication site it is said that genDESIGN will be filling out its portfolio of games besides The Last Guardian by working on a new title, hence the new job listings appearing on the recruit section of the team’s main site.

The tracks that lead to this recruitment page can be traced to a tweet released by genDESIGN last Friday, which GameRant posted up. You can look over the tweet and its contents below:

A rough translation of the above reads that…

“We opened a special recruitment site for our next project. We are waiting for the participation of game developers”

The type of game developers in genDESIGN’s scope range from modelers, artist, and designers. In other words, artists for creating the basic premise are needed to help flesh out this new project’s world:

  • Background Modeler
  • Effect Artist
  • Technical Artist
  • Animator
  • Programmer
  • Procedural Animation Programmer
  • Game Designer
  • Project Manager

Lastly, the publication site points out that since Fumito Ueda — director of ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian — and former Team Ico members are working on this new project it could mean something worthwhile is in the works. I should note that this move doesn’t mean significant information will follow in the coming days, but it does mean that gamers just might have something noteworthy in the works.

Anyway, what do you think of genDESIGN’s new project? Do you think it will be better or worse than The Last Guardian?
