Gravel, Off-Road Racing Game Now Available For PS4, Xbox One, PC
Gravel

The eight generation of gaming has been a long and boring one. Let’s be honest, most of the cool games that came out during seventh gen just run circles around all the boring, lame, uninteresting crap we’ve been getting this gen. There’s a ton of play-it-safe style titles that lack both ingenuity and entertainment. That’s not to mention that plenty of genres have basically become little more than a skinner box for pushing the latest in loot box advancements and microtransactions. On the upside, however, there are some companies who have been attempting to try new things or experiment with genres that have been long forsaken and forgotten… sort of like the Italian developer Milestone taking on the mixed-discipline off-road racer, Gravel.

The company announced that this dirt-kicking, dust-spewing, bump-and-grind off-road simulator is officially available for purchase on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. If you’ve been in dire straits due to the dearth of off-road racers coming out this gen, Gravel is designed to sate your thirst and whet your appetite, providing a full course meal of over 50 tracks to race across, and multiple disciplines to master across outdoor tracks, rally events, stadiums, and closed circuits.

You can check out the launch trailer below, which gives you a small taste of the different events featured in the game.

The game features 60 different events where you will need to master minis, jeeps, trucks and dune buggies in order to overcome your opponents, hug turns tighter than a virgin killer sweater on an Instagram cosplayer’s double Ds, and get higher on your jumps than Snoop Dogg in a Las Vegas limo ride.

The real interesting hook for the game is that the different events and rallies will take you across different types of environments, including the jungle, desert tracks, and manufactured dirt tracks within closed stadium circuits. So you’ll have to learn how to master the different terrain and how the vehicles will deal with those varying conditions.

I’m curious if the physics will change based on the environment or is it all the same thing? I suppose we’ll find out from the real car enthusiasts and gearheads now that Gravel is up and out for gamers to pick up and purchase for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
