Hitman Spring Pack Is Free To Download On Xbox One, PS4, Steam

If you’ve been skipping out on the 2016 reboot of Hitman because you hated the episodic nature of the game, IO Interactive is trying to lure people back in with the Hitman Episode 2 Spring Pack, which is currently available as a free download on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

The Spring Pack contains the Sapienza map, the main contracts for the map, the side-quests and and 20 levels of mastery. This is in addition to the entry training level being free for download on PS4, Xbox One and via Steam for PC.

In a community post the developers explained that you’ll have access to seven different achievements, access to more than 100 different challenges, all of the Escalation Contracts, Challenge Packs, and Feature Contracts available across the map.

The only thing you don’t gain access to are the previously released Elusive Target missions that have already been made available. You will, however, gain access to any future Elusive Target missions that IO Interactive decides to make available.

It’s kind of odd that they would make the second episode free, but maybe there’s a method to a madness that they have planned for the future of the Hitman franchise?

The majority of the episodes were released piecemeal during 2016 leading up to 2017. A lot of gamers weren’t entirely pleased with this release schedule but that’s what IO wanted to experiment with but it didn’t quite pay off.

Square Enix and IO ended up parting ways back in early 2017, and so far IO has been attempting to court back gamers toward the 2016 outing of Hitman. Releasing the training level and Episode 2: World of Tomorrow for free could be their way to get people interested again.

The entire bundle is available for $73.91, but it’s currently discounted right now by 57% off so you can get it for $31.92. If you want the free episode you can grab it from the Steam store page or from the PlayStation Store or from the Xbox Store.
