Streumon Studio and Focus Home Interactive announced that Space Hulk: Deathwing – Enhanced Edition will arrive for the PlayStation 4 and on PC starting May 22nd, 2018 this spring. The news was accompanied by a brand new gameplay trailer showcasing the Space Marines taking on some vicious Xenos.
The update will be free for PC gamers who already own the game, and additional customization features will not require paid microtransactions to unlock them. You’ll gain access to customization perks by actually playing the game.
The game puts players in the role of the Space Marine’s Deathwing outfit. The 1st company of the Dark Angels venture out into deep space to investigate seemingly derelict space hulks floating around. It turns out that the space hulks aren’t quite as empty as they first thought, and extermination squads are sent in to clean out the Genestealers and take down the heretics.
Space Hulk: Deathwing is a plodding, violent, gory, first-person shooter with cooperative play for up to four players. The gameplay trailer gives you a look at the enhanced edition of the first-person shooter, which originally came out back in late 2016.
The Enhanced Edition of Space Hulk: Deathwing offers players the entire base game, but with added enhancements, upgrades and additional content, including deeper class customization, the all new Chaplain Class that offers melee players more options, new melee weapons, and an all new Genestealer enemy type.
They’ve also added new randomized objectives for special missions to help expand on the replayability of the game.
If you enjoy survival-style first-person shooters where you basically run-and-gun and slice and bash your way through alien scum, then you can definitely do that in Space Hulk: Deathwing.
Focus Home Interactive also reiterated that there are no microtranstions and no loot boxes. Many of these updates are also being rolled out freely for the PC version of Space Hulk: Deathwing, so if you already own a copy you don’t have to buy the new one to get a hold of the new Enhanced Edition features.
