Obsidian Entertainment and Versus Evil announced that Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire will launch this May, but it will have three post-launch DLC packs made available between July and November.
The game will be available on PC for Windows, Mac and Linux starting May 8th. A couple of months later in July, you will be able to acquire the first DLC pack called the “Beast of Winter”. This particular adventure will take players to a mysterious island where a doomsday cult resides. You’ll have to uncover some ancient secrets while conquering “devilish challenges”. And no, all of you butthurt people angry at the ending of Far Cry 5 will not be able to kill Joseph Seed in Pillars of Eternity II: Beast of Winter… because even if he was in the game he would still nuke your arses back to present day.
The second DLC pack is called “Seeker, Slayer, Survivor” and will be available in September at the tail end of summer. It’s described as a combat-oriented DLC pack that takes place on an undiscovered island where you’ll need to focus on the combat prowess and tactical mastery of your team. You’ll need to fight against some skilled and deadly warriors within the region in order to survive and escape with all your limbs intact.
The third DLC will be available at the tail end of 2018, launching in November. It’s called “The Forgotten Sanctum”. This DLC is designed to test the moral allegiance of your party under the purview of the great wizards of Eora. You’ll uncover mysteries seemingly lost to time, while also dealing with the consequences that will echo throughout your journey long after the trials are complete.
You can either purchase the DLC packs separately for $9.99 each or as part of the season pass for $24.99. FIG backers who put in enough coin into the coffers of Obsidian for the Collector’s Edition will automatically have access to the season pass and the three DLC packs. Everyone else will have to cough up some money to get their hands on the three expansions.
