World War 3 Devs Touch On PC Specs, Service Model, Single-Player, And Factions

World War 3 is a game that I’m really looking forward to as of this moment, and while we wait for The Farm 51 to drop the PC game come this September, the devs have shared some interesting notes with the community about the upcoming tactical online shooter.

Without wasting any time, The Farm 51 posted World War 3′s Steam Early Access page up on June 1st, which features the minimum and recommended PC specs to run the game.

World War 3’s minimum PC specs sit below:

  • OS: Windows 7 SP1 (x64)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K CPU
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Geforce GTX 770 or AMD Radeon HD 7870
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 35 GB available space

And the recommended PC specs for the upcoming game lie right here:

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 7 SP1 (x64), Windows 8 (x64), Windows 10 (x64)

Now that you know World War 3’s PC specs thanks to The Farm 51 posting them up not too long ago (as of this writing), curious gamers soon took to the now opened Community Hub on the game’s Steam page to see if the devs would answer their questions. And lo and behold, two devs came out to answer various queries about World War 3.

One of the first queries comes from a concerned user about customization and microtransactions. World War 3 developer Fragir noted that…

Fragir – Exactly, we’re not planning on adding any microtransactions during the Early Access phase, since we’d like to put more time and effort into making the game. After EA – only cosmetic, and only if people want it.

Another individual wanted to know what engine World War 3 is using and whether or not there will be a focus on anti-cheat tech:

Fragir – Yup, it’s UE4, we’re currently not telling what anticheat is going to be used, but there will be one, as well as a way to report people for cheating.

The next query revolves around whether there will be a single-player mode in the game or not, to which Fragir replied with the following answer:

Fragir – We’re focusing on the multiplayer side of the game, but if the community is really adamant on having a singleplayer way to play, we’ll at least consider it.

Problem is, we’re a small studio, and to make a good singleplayer campaign, it’d take a LOT of resources and time that could be spent somewhere else. Just imagine: making a multiplayer map gives our player potentially countless hours of gameplay if the MP is good. A singleplayer map? A few tops? How many times are people going to replay the same mission with nobody around to see it?

Another user wanted to know if World War 3 will be free to play, which developer Muflex replied:

Muflex – It won’t be F2P but also it won’t be expensive. Make sure to follow our social profiles to be up to date.

Moreover, when a curious gamer asked the two developers if World War 3 will sport a Battle Royale mode at launch, Muflex and answered:

Muflex – World War 3 will have it’s unique Battle Royale – Recon. We know lately it’s been an overkill with BR but there was no Battle Royale like the one in WW3.

Fragir – We’ve taken some features of a standard BR mode that fit our gameplay and as a result, there’s nothing similiar to Recon that we know of.

Lastly, one fan wanted to know the starting factions that will be in World War 3:

Muflex – Russia, Germany and Poland as a starting lineup. Who should joint the fight next will be up to the community and it’s wishes 🙂 Keep your suggestions flowing.

World War 3 will go through an early access phase. This phase will be open to players for feedback and refinement on PC. Finally, you can learn more about this game by heading on over to,, the game’s Twitter account, Facebook page or by watching the announcement trailer:
