Farm Folks, an upcoming product by Overgrown, is a nod to Harvest Moon games and will bring similar features to PC via Steam Early Access sometime “soon.” If all goes well, the team also has plans on porting the game to PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
Not too long ago, Overgrown posted on Farm Folks Kickstarter page that it surpassed its goal of $92,882 (Australian) with 1,597 backers. The game that pays homage to the Harvest Moon series will be coming to Steam sometime “soon” thanks to its successful run.
In addition to the above, console folks will likely see a version available if Farm Folks continues to do well. As of now, though, the team will bring the farming simulator to PC via Steam sooner than the home console version.
As for gameplay, Farm Folks offers a mix of RPG and farming mechanics, giving you the chance to get lost in a colorful world while building a farm from the ground up.
As you begin to nurture your plot of land that will produce various goods, you can meet the citizens of the island, uncover mysteries, and strive to be the best farmer.
As a personal note, though, I think character faces need some help. I’m not so sure if this will be fixed later on, but that’s something that needs definite work ASAP. Anyway, you can look over the video trailer showing Farm Folks in action right here:
