Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night Will Release In 2019 Without A PS Vita Version

Are you a fan of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night? Do you like the PS Vita? Well, it looks like the former will be pushed back to 2019 for further polish while the latter version of the game is canceled. The 2.5D platformer release is set for 2019 and will debut on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch.

Without wasting any time, fans of Bloodstained can read over this small introductory that details what is going on with the game development wise, which is followed by a new video featuring Koji Igarashi himself:

“Koji Igarashi announces that Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is now launching in 2019, and will no longer launch or be supported on PlayStation Vita. The game will be released in 2019 on PC, Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.”

Did you hear that noise at 0:39? It sounded like somebody fainted just by hearing the cancellation of the Vita version. Anyway, on a serious note, we learn that the most important reason for this delay is to raise the quality level, especially after fans expressed their thoughts regarding the Beta Backer Demo.

Secondly, Bloodstained will no longer launch on PS Vita. The rhyme or reason is due to “Sony’s plans to discontinue the Vita console.” Essentially, the devs say that since Sony is ending production of physical copies and stopping certain online store support features, they will cancel the Vita port.

In addition to the above, backers who have ordered the PS Vita version of the game will be able to choose another platform or request a refund. Vita backers will receive an e-mail with additional instructions sometime soon.

In the meantime, Vita backers who backed at an unlimited tier can change platforms now on the survey pages or send out for a refund through PayPal which must be requested before September 20th, 2018, to initiate a manual refund.
