Huawei (pronounced Wah-Way) released its latest Matebook X Pro in the United States in May 2018. The 13.9-inch ultra sleek laptop weighing in at 2.93lbs, is often compared to resembling Apple’s 13-inch Macbook Pro, both are available in the color Space Gray and made of aluminum. The Matebook X Pro comes in two models a base model and a more powerful configuration model. The touchscreen has an almost bezeless 3K display, with a resolution of 3000 x 2000 pixel, and has the operating system Windows Home 64-bit.
The audio sounds sports a built-in quad Dolby speakers, with a splash proof keyboard. The spacious trackpad allows the user the option to use either touchscreen and/or trackpad. Huawei decided to place the 1mp web-cam hidden between the keyboard, either the user is going to like it or hate it (notice I didn’t say love it). The video is an Intel UHD Graphics 620 with shared graphics memory. It connects with Bluetooth 4.1, and ports are plentiful. It has a 3.5mm headphone port, one USB-A port, one USB-C port, HDMI port, and a VGA port, and included in the box is Huawei’s compact Mate Dock 2.0. The Power button is also the fingerprint sensor identity authentication. The Lithium-Polymer 57.4WHr has a 7-8 hours battery life for average activities.
The Matebook X Pro basic model retails for $1,199.99 (at the time of this article, Microsoft is offering the basic model for $1,049.00) and Amazon is also offering the basic for the same price of $1,049.00.
