Warhammer: Chaosbane Trailer Highlights Old-World ARPG Co-op Play

French development studio EKO Software and Bigben Interactive released the newest trailer for Warhammer: Chaosbane. The trailer covers how Karl Franz led the Empire of Man against the Chaos and pushed the forces of evil back into darkness. However, the darkness couldn’t stay hidden for long and it begins creeping back out, destined to overcome the isle of man and overthrow the Empire.

It’s up to players to take on the roles of distinct classes under the banner of the Everchosen, intent on driving the forces of darkness back into the abyss from which it came.

The four-player hack-and-slash, Diablo-style gameplay gets a brief peek in the story trailer that you can check out below.

Unlike many other ARPGs based around Warhammer, this is the first hailed as being based around the fantasy battles instead of the 40K universe.

This means that you will be able to play as various races, including humans, high elves, wood elves, or dwarves. You’ll venture through various locations such as the city of Praag, the city of Nuln, and the heart of the Chaos.

If you’ve been a fan of Warhammer for years and wanted an action-RPG based on the old-time fantasy elements you might enjoy the game, or if you’ve just been introduced to the brand through popular titles like Total War: Warhammer, and you wanted a more action-oriented, cooperative gameplay experience to dive into along with your buddies, you might want to keep an eye on Chaosbane.

The upcoming title is still a ways off from release, though, and you shouldn’t expect to see the full version until some point in 2019 for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Hopefully EKO Software takes the time to properly flesh out the gameplay and ensure that the mechanics and controls are all solid, lest Warhammer: Chaosbane fall victim to so many other Warhammer games before it that just came up short in the quality assurance department.
