Space Tycoon, Space Strategy Sim Preps To Enter Early Access
Space Tycoon

Chinese developer Space Driver recently announced that their strategy game Space Tycoon is set to release soon into Early Access on Steam. The Steam page is currently live with some scant details on the upcoming title.

All of the screenshots are currently in Chinese, but the game itself will be available in both simplified Chinese and in English.

The object of the game is to setup a space station that allows you to buy, trade, and sell resources and space ships. You’ll need to take on deals and complete events in order to make money, upgrade your station and buy new ships in preparation for an impending galactic war.

There are elements of a 4x strategy game, insofar that you’ll be able to form alliances and use diplomacy in order to expand your fleet.

There’s also space combat involved as well, but we don’t see what any of it is like in the screenshots made available on the Steam page.

And given that the screenshots are all in Chinese, it’s difficult for the average gamer to figure out what’s going on. However, the game does feature tier-based items that you can collect and trade, with different grades of items enabling you to make more money to build or acquire better quality ships.

So why is the game entering into Early Access and what will they eventually add to Space Tycoon? Well, it’s so that the developers can polish up the art, optimize the current warships and add new warships to the game, include the multiplayer portion of the game, and create more world events.

The Early Access version of the game will contain some of the basic combat, trading, and the space station management. They have plans on adding all the aforementioned content over the course of six months.

There’s no specific release date on when Space Tycoon will enter Early Access, but it’s coming before November is out. You can learn more by visiting the Steam store page.
