Paradox Interactive has opened up a one-stop-shop for mods called the Paradox Mods. It’s a website portal over on the Paradox Plaza website.

The new modding portal will allow PC gamers to create mods and then share them with other PC gamers as well as Xbox One gamers. It will be a melting pot of home console and PC interactivity, where gamers will be able to easily select the mods they want and download them without any hassle.

The design is similar to the way Bethesda had it setup with Skyrim and Fallout mods being made available on home consoles.

According to a report from Twinfinite it’s unclear if there are any specific hardware specifications or limitations in place for Xbox One gamers the way it is for Bethesda’s games, but so far the only available mods on the Paradox Plaza for Microsoft’s home console is from Surviving Mars.

Paradox has plans on adding modding availability to more games across the Plaza. Right now there are 101 mods available for Surviving Mars, which is compatible with Linux, PC, and Xbox One owners.

Paradox decided to start with the sci-fi strategy game but will apparently open up more of their games to the modding process in the near future. They’re taking it slow for now, which is interesting because there are a lot of rumors inbound that Microsoft will be unveiling a new console soon. It seems like this could be a case of too little, too late. However, some modding is still better than nothing, and if Microsoft retains some architectural similitude between the Xbox One and whatever the new console is supposed to be, then I suppose Paraodox will likely look to carry the feature over in to the next gen instead of working from the ground up.

For now, the Paradox Plaza modding community supports Surviving Mars, Cities Skylines and Stellaris, but only Surviving Mars has support for the Xbox One… for now.
