French development studio Spiders and publisher Focus Home Interactive announced that Greedfall, the upcoming action-RPG, is scheduled to release on the Xbox One, PS4, and on PC starting September 10th at the twilight of summer.
To commemorate the celebration of the game’s release date, Focus Home Interactive dropped a brand new gameplay trailer for the upcoming Greedfall, giving gamers a small taste of what’s to come.
You can check out the trailer below.
This is probably the most we’ve ever seen from Greedfall’s gameplay, revealing more about the character creation process that allows you to create male or female protagonists, and the ability to acquire and upgrade different types of armor throughout your journey.
Style-wise, the game really stands out because there’s nothing on the market that looks like Spiders’ third-person action-adventure title. It has that age of sail painterly aesthetic with a warm autumn palette that gives the impression that it’s eternally trapped in the fall.
The combat – based on what little we’ve seen – actually looks pretty cool. I like how the characters fire the weapons and attempt to stay out of the way of the frizzen when firing to avoid taking flame burns. It really adds to the dynamism of the combat and gives the characters a lot of life when engaged in battle.
Hopefully the jankiness that Spiders games are known are is all ironed out, especially in the combat sections of the game, because that’s what you’re going to be doing the most of when you’re not talking to NPCs, crafting, or exploring the open world.
You can look for Greedfall to launch on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC starting September 10th later this year. Need more info? Feel free to hit up the game’s official website or check out the Steam store page for more info. And yes, this game is coming to Steam and is not an Epic Games Store exclusive.
