Although folks won’t be able to play a single-player game sporting macho soldiers braving a ruthless extraterrestrial entity out in the jungle, instead Gamescom 2019 will play host to unveiling Sony Interactive Entertainment and Illfonic’s PvP game Predator: Hunting Grounds.
Back in May, the house of Sony revealed during its State of Play a teaser video for Predator: Hunting Grounds. The game isn’t a first-person shooter, but an asymmetric multiplayer PvP title.
Much like any other “escape game,” this one has it where a group of players assume the role of paramilitary forces in the jungle while another sole player takes control of the iconic Predator.
With all of that said, you can read the upcoming game’s description or watch the old trailer right here:
“Drop into the Predator universe through a new competitive online multiplayer experience. Play as an elite Fireteam charged to complete paramilitary operations while a Predator mercilessly hunts you. Or, BE the Predator, armed with all the deadly alien weaponry you’ve grown to love and pursue your prey.”
As a forewarning, the video above is not actual gameplay footage, but it’s captured in-engine. What does this mean? Well, it means that there is no gameplay or in-game footage of Predator: Hunting Grounds out in the wild.
Moreover, that should change soon given that the meme man himself, Geoff Keighley, tweeted that Gamescom 2019: Opening Night Live will show the first-ever footage of Hunting Grounds on August 19th at 11:00 A.M. PT / 2:00 P.M. ET:
