Do you want more Star Wars? Well, if you do or if you don’t, there seems to be more endless Star Wars coming to you in the near future. A new report cites another section from EA’s investor call regarding the company to release this new Star Wars game before the end of Fiscal Year 2022.
In case you don’t know, EA and Respawn Entertainment are in the process of releasing Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order to the world in the next two weeks. However, that’s not all the Star Wars on the menu — even if certain people in Hollywood are running the films into the ground.
The above information comes from website gamingbolt.com, where it’s said that during the company’s recent quarterly investors call, EA CEO Andrew Wilson confirmed that one more Star Wars game is set to launch near the end of Financial Year 2022, apart from the upcoming release of Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order.
With all of that said, here’s EA CEO talking about releasing a new Star Wars game and continuing the licensing partnership with Disney:
“There’s some other Disney stuff that might drop into – Star Wars stuff that might drop into ’22 or maybe even earlier, but with more to come on that. We’re still highly engaged around the Disney license.”
I should note that EA and its developers are committed to bringing live-service mechanics to as many games as possible. In other words, post-launch content related to live-service stuff will more than likely end up in this forthcoming game if not at release.
Sadly, no details on this new Star Wars game have surfaced, which means info on whether we’ll be getting a third-person game, a first-person title, an RPG, or whatever remains to be seen and is still a mystery at this point.
In the meantime, what’re your thoughts on EA staying “highly” involved with the whole Disney license thing and producing more Star Wars games?
