New Final Fantasy VII Remake Trailer Airs At The Game Awards 2019

Square Enix is currently working on Final Fantasy VII Remake and plans on releasing the RPG on PS4 on March 3rd, 2020. During The Game Awards 2019, Square Enix released a new trailer showing fans what Q1 2020 has in store.

The new trailer spotlights familiar faces such as Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, Barrett, Sephiroth, and the like. However, some gameplay makes its way in the video trailer along with various cutscenes.

If you happen to be new and wish to learn more about the forthcoming RPG, the following trailer offers some insight on the iconic hero known as Cloud Strife and how he becomes “embroiled” in a much larger conflict:

“Originally hired by the resistance group Avalanche in their fight against the sinister Shinra Corporation, Cloud Strife becomes embroiled in a much deeper conflict and proves he’s more than just a mere mercenary.

Get an introduction to this iconic hero in this trailer shown during The Game Awards, and get ready to experience more of his story when FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE launches Worldwide for PS4 on March 3, 2020.”

If all of that looks like something you can get behind, due know that the game may come to PC or the Xbox family of consoles. I say this because we recently covered the box art for Final Fantasy VII Remake, which shows that it’s a timed PS4 exclusive until 2021.

The above information contradicts what Square Enix had told website videogameschronicle.com on July 11th, 2019, about Final Fantasy VII Remake hitting other platforms:

“As previously announced, Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released for the PlayStation 4 on March 3rd 2020. We have no plans for other platforms.”

The reason for Square Enix using another publication site with reach to get the word out that Final Fantasy VII Remake wouldn’t land on PC or Xbox One is due to a screw up on the Xbox Team’s end a day before.

Twitter user and video game news leaker Nibel caught wind of the Xbox Team’s mistake and reported on July 10th, 2019, the following:

Given that the Xbox Team made a full video on Final Fantasy VII Remake for the green brand confirms the “timed exclusivity” sticker on the game’s PS4 cover art. Also, since the Xbox brand can’t keep exclusives and shares everything with PC, it means both platforms will gain access to Final Fantasy VII Remake sometime in 2021.

For now, the game will launch on the Sony policy device known as PS4 come March 3rd, 2020.
