Turn 10 Studios Briefly Talks Forza Motorsport 8 Being Vastly Different, No Word On Microtransactions

It looks like fans that like Forza Motorsport have new systems to look forward to in the next entry. For simplicity, I’ll refer to the next title as Forza Motorsport 8, and it sounds like the game will boast new tire, suspension, weather, and pavement physics. However, no word has surfaced on Forza Motorsport 8′s microtransaction system and if it will be like Forza Motorsport 7.

Way back in late 2017, we reported on Forza Motorsport 7 having loot-boxes that could turn the most docile person surly. Additionally, the game that released two years ago had basic options like racing at night to earn more points locked behind loot crates.

If you want a recap on how terrible Forza Motorsport 7′s microtransactions were, you can watch an older video that Pretty Good Gaming still has up:

In the most recent “Forza Monthly | December Edition,” we learn nothing about whether the next installment has a battle pass or microtransaction store — something that’s in nearly every new release.

Nevertheless, website gamingbolt.com informs us that creative director Chris Esaki says Turn 10 Studios held its first Forza Motorsport 8 “studio-wide playtest” this year.

The website highlights Esaki talking about different features, which fans are said to expect a new tire model, suspension setup, and a brand new pressure system. While these things are using new tech to power them, they are considered “little” according to Esaki.

The overall product is said to reach new heights in that it’s “vastly different” and that the aforesaid stuff is minuscule by comparison:

“In reality, [these features] don’t really matter in the larger scheme of things. The overall product, and where we’re going with it, is so vastly different and an amazing experience.”

Moreover, Esaki goes back to familiar things that he had discussed earlier like tires and the dynamic weather system:

“We have a new way that heat interacts with the tire pressure and we actually have dynamic track temperatures affecting this all. We have dynamic rubbering in on the track. We have a new atmospheric pressure system that accurately has pressure affecting things like air density, affecting aerodynamics and power, as well as the tire pressure. We have an entire new suspension system with new suspension modeling.”

Lastly, Esaki says more information on the forthcoming installment will appear next year sometime in 2020.
