Bluepoint Games New Project Will “Define Next-Gen Visuals”

Bluepoint Games catalog of games isn’t that long, and most of it consists of remasters or assistant work. Despite all of that, the devs are looking to make a PS5 exclusive that will “define next-gen visuals.”

After being established in 2006, the team would go on to help Sony by assisting and developing a handful of PS3 titles. Sporadically, an Xbox 360 game would wind up on Bluepoint Games’ list of work, but Sony was obviously the developer’s choice:

  • [PS3] Blast Factor
  • [PS3] God of War Collection
  • [PS3] The Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection
  • [PS3 | Xbox 360] Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
  • [PS Vita] PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale
  • [PS3 | PS Vita] Flower
  • [Xbox 360] Titanfall
  • [PS4] Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection
  • [PS4] Gravity Rush Remastered
  • [PS4] Shadow of the Colossus

Fast forward to early 2020 and we see Bluepoint Games carrying out its love for Sony with an upcoming “PS5 exclusive.” It’s unclear if this game will remain a PS5 exclusive or if it will ship to other platforms, but what is for certain is that the team is gearing up to make a new working title via bluepointgames.com.

The official website goes on about a lot of stuff, you know, like why you should work there, what drives the team, and so on. However, the part that is the most interesting is the first and third paragraph on the site, as listed below:

“Bluepoint has developed a history of delivering the highest quality remasters and remakes in the industry. But that’s not enough for us. Our latest project is the largest in our history, and aims to define the visual benchmark for the next generation of gaming hardware.

[…] With each game, we set out to achieve industry-defining visuals and gameplay, while fostering the growth and success of our team.”

Many speculations are running rampant right now in that some publication sites think Bluepoint Games is working on a new Demon Souls or Legend of Dragoon remake, but there’s no validity behind those claims.

Lastly, around 90 people are working at Bluepoint Games, where four major positions are open. Seeing that the team needs a Senior Graphics Engineer, Senior General Engineer, Senior Designer, and a Senior VFX Artist means that this game isn’t releasing anytime soon.
