CNN Settles Lawsuit With Covington High’s Nick Sandmann

Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann sued CNN, NBC, and The Washington Post last year for their misinformation spread about the rally that took place in Washington D.C., that involved the conflagration of Black Israelites, Native Americans, and the high school students. Initially the judge dismissed and then reversed the decision against The Washington Post, but the case against CNN was settled out of court.

Fox19 reported on January 7th, 2020 that now that CNN settled out of the $800 million suit against them, Washington Post, and NBC Universal, trial dates still need to be scheduled against The Washington Post and NBC.

The news was confirmed by Sandmann, who tweeted out the results on January 7th, 2020.

The Fox19 article goes on to explain that this isn’t a cash grab from Sandmann and the lawyers, but rather a deterrent to prevent the media from using their platforms to smear others in the future.

As stated in the article…

“Attorneys say the money they’re seeking is not designed to compensate Nick, but to “deter the defendants” from doing the same thing (that they’re accused of) in the future.”

Getting woke and going broke should seem like a good deterrent, but then again we’ve seen so many studios, organizations, outfits, and outlets get woke and end up on the go broke master list.

This is good news, though, that Sandmann’s lawsuit is being taken serious, and it would be quite the feat if he managed to bankrupt The Washington Post in the process, it would be equivalent to when Hulk Hogan put the leg-drop on Gawker.

After the case against The Washington Post was initially dismissed, I had reservations about true justice being served, but it looks like things are finally back on track.
