Senren Banka Steam Release Date Set For February 14th On Valentine’s Day

NekoNyan Soft announced the official release date for the romantic visual novel from Yuzusoft, Senren Banka, is set for Valentine’s Day on February 14th, 2020. The visual novel apparently managed to get past the increasingly strict standards of Valve’s taste police in order to secure a release on Steam.

The news about the official release date was made available over on the official NekoNyan website, where they wrote…

“[…] we know that you guys have been anxiously waiting for news on Senren*Banka’s release date, so before you fall out of your chair in excitement, we are happy to announce that it will be released on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, 2020! We are working hard to make sure everything is perfect, and hope you are enjoying the trial in the meantime!”

There’s currently a trial version of the visual novel available over on the Steam store that you can download right now. It should give you a small taste of what you can expect when the full English version of the game becomes available later this month.

The Steam version of the visual novel comes with full Japanese voice acting, but subtitle options available in English, Japanese, and both simplified and traditional Chinese.

The story centers around a rustic village in Japan that is a hot spot tourist attraction thanks to the Murasamemaru blade that’s lodged deep inside of a rock. When the protagonist, Arichi Masaomi, accidentally breaks the blade in half, he’s subjected to a punishment beyond his wildest dreams when he’s forced to marry the shrine maiden of Hoori village in order to make amends for his mistake.

There are multiple girls for Arichi to woo, and plenty of hijinks to encounter along the way.

What’s also interesting is that NekoNyan also provided an update on another game they’ve published, Aokana. The game was supposed to receive some merchandise to accompany its release, but production hit a snag due to the Corona Virus. They explain in the post…

“Unfortunately, due to the outbreak of the Wuhan Virus in China, the production has had to be further suspended as the Chinese Government has extended the holiday to prevent the spread of the virus, resulting in the factory remaining closed for the time being. We thank you for your understanding and patience as our partners work through that issue for now.”

You know things are bad when a virus is impeding weebs from being able to get their hands on gaming merchandise.

Bummer.

Anyway, you can look for Senren Banka to launch on Steam starting February 14th. You can keep track of the game’s development by following it or wishlisting it on the Steam store.
