Chernobylite Updated With Pripyat Location, DirectX 12 Support

The Farm 51’s S.T.A.L.K.E.R-esque first-person shooter has steadily been making its way through Early Access ever since it entered into Steam’s developmental cycle back in October of 2019. The latest update for the game includes a familiar location to many fans of Russia’s danger zone… Pripyat.

The new area allows gamers to explore the giant Ferris wheel, the amusement park, and Lenin Square. A few of the well known locations have been altered, however, including the Palace of Culture Energetik or the Polissya Hotel, both of which have been altered and turned into secret military bases with mysterious intent.

You’ll get explore these new locations in update, which is available right now for those of you who already own a copy of the game.

The trailer definitely does a fine job of bringing Pripyat to life and creating a very surrealistic depiction of the haunting location. It’s certainly a lot more atmospheric than how it was portrayed in GSC Game World’s series.

In addition to having new places to explore, the Early Access update also comes with a new character you can interact with named Olga. She’s a Ukrainian teenage girl from a settlement known as “The Village” that’s located in the Red Forest.

You can recruit Olga to your team, or learn new skills from the NPC, as well as go on some brand new missions related to Olga, Sashko, and Georgiy.

DirectX 12 support has been added, along with improved optimization for AMD cards thanks to The Farm 51’s collaboration with AMD to include FidelityFX features.

Additional improvements to the graphical interface and quality of life content has also become top priority, along with further stabilizing frame-rates and performance.

You can learn more about the latest build of Chernobylite by visiting the Steam store page or the GOG.com page.
