Facebook Bans Qanon Groups, Pages, Accounts

Facebook is removing any trace of pushback or dissent from groups on the social media platform that doesn’t align with the Left’s agenda. The target of the day is any group or page associated with QAnon.

According to the Associated Press, various groups have been banned from the platform in association with Qanon, along with VDARE…

“The social-media giant made the announcement Tuesday as part of its monthly briefing on “coordinated inauthentic behavior” on its platforms. That’s Facebook’s term for fake accounts run with the intent of disrupting politics elections and society.

“In addition to the QAnon accounts, Facebook also removed accounts linked to VDARE, a U.S. website known for posting anti-immigration content, as well as accounts in Russia, Iran, Mauritania, Myanmar and the country of Georgia.”

VDARE hasn’t had a good go of it on social media.

They were previously terminated from YouTube back in August of 2019; no warning and no heads-up.

For now VDARE still has their Twitter account, but given how much the Left is cracking down on any and every account that doesn’t align with their agenda leading into the general elections in the fall, I wouldn’t doubt it if their Twitter account is banned between the primaries and the general election.

As mentioned in the Associated Press report, Facebook claims that QAnon groups are “inauthentic” and engage in “inauthentic behavior”, which is why they’re targeting them.

Quoting from a Facebook report back in April, the company stated…

“We are making progress rooting out this abuse, but as we’ve said before, it’s an ongoing effort. That means building better technology, hiring more people and working more closely with law enforcement, security experts and other companies.”

If they’re cracking down on QAnon then it’s likely that any fringe group that doesn’t align with the establishment will likely get banned.

YouTube and Twitter are already doing their bid to lockdown dissent, especially with Corona-chan still running rampant.
