Open Discussion: May 24th, 2020

The last May Open Discussion is here. If you have no idea what this series is about, know that discussing old, current, and new things happening around the world is more than accepted. You can post up anything about video games, movies, politics, and TV shows and will face no penalty or censorship when doing so. This series of discussion changes every week, but mainly focuses on video game culture.

The Open Discussion series arrives every Sunday on this site and explores a variety of topics that include technology, interactive entertainment, politics, and other mediums. Moreover, like any other post on this site, no comment will face any form of censorship.

In addition to the above, if one of your comments faces a form of censorship — in that it’s removed or blocked — let us know so that we can address the situation and restore your comment. Due to the acts of WordPress and Disqus, a post of yours may face problems, but as mentioned above, shoot us a message, and we’ll try to straighten things out.

With all of that said, this Open Discussion is about Twitter’s newly released “spoiler feature” that allows certain people at this point and time to release a tweet and stop others from commenting or replying to said tweet.

In addition to the above, the person that chooses to use the “spoiler feature” can tag certain individuals so that only a group of selected people can chat or reply to the tweet in question. Other people not tagged to speak or reply to the tweet boasting the spoiler option can only view, like, or retweet it.

With that said, do you think this “feature” will branch out to other platforms? Do you feel that this “spoiler feature” is already on other platforms? And lastly, do you think this will do more harm than good or vice versa?

This week’s music comes from the Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver and is Ozar Midrashim:
