Demon’s Souls Remake Announced For PS5

Sony and From Japan Studio announced that Bluepoint Games will be heading up core development on a remake of the iconic PS3 game, Demon’s Souls, for PlayStation 5 gamers. They didn’t give a release date on when you could expect the remake to land on store shelves, but they did release a teaser trailer for the game.

Obviously the visuals have been updated to match [current year] graphics standards, and I’m sure they’ll find some way to squeeze in a mention or two about the alphabet soup brigade, since Sony seems to have fallen into the trap of being 100% pozzed, which amply explains why they’re also on the Traitors of America master list.

Anyway, you can check out the teaser trailer for the Demon’s Souls remake below.

The teaser trailer doesn’t contain any gameplay, yet the Sony pony fanboys in the comment section were squealing with delight at the prospect of what they might be able to play.

That’s fanboys for you.

It’s almost embarrassing reading the comments where they just fawn all over a remake of a game where they don’t even know if the remake is faithful to the original. It’s just a trailer full of bosses with zero gameplay on display.

Then again, it seems bizarre to me that people would be excited about a remake for a game that only just came out 11 years ago. Typically remakes make sense when a game is maybe 20 or 30 years old and has aged like spoiled milk. But a game that’s just barely a decade old and still holds up to today? That’s a surefire sign that publishers are creatively bankrupt.

Anyway, the remake for Demon’s Souls is due out at some point for the PS5 but we just don’t know when. Expect the release details to arrive later this year.
