Warhammer 40K: Darktide 4-Player FPS Headed To Xbox Series X, PC In 2021

Warhammer 40K Darktide

Fatshark released a new teaser trailer for the upcoming four-player cooperative first-person shooter called Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. The game is basically a 40K version of their Warhammer: Vermintide series, which was set back in the old age of Games Workshop’s popular series. It’s just too bad that Games Workshop used their franchise to support domestic terrorist, which netted them a spot on the Traitors of America master list.

Anyway, the new teaser trailer for Darktide is both funny and frightening. The setup is absolutely perfect, as four men – yes, men… I know it’s rare but we actually have four grown men as soldiers for once instead of some dyed-haired harpy or frail supermodel being tossed into the bunch – sent on what was supposed to be a simple reconnaissance mission.

Things turn sour for the quartet when one of them gets injured, another can’t keep his flashlight turned on, and the hive that they were sent to investigate is filled to the brim with what appears to be thousands of zombies. You can check out the cinematic teaser below.

It’s both funny and sad that this simple teaser did more to raise my interest in Darktide than the eight minute farcical demonstration that was the Halo: Infinite gameplay reveal.

Even though we didn’t get to see any actual gameplay on display in the teaser trailer, we do get to see some of the screenshots of the environments for Fatshark’s upcoming title over on the Steam store page.

This could end up being a real sweet gem given that instead of playing as the Ultra Marines, you get to play as what appears to be standard soldiers attempting to escape from the hordes of the corrupted being led by the heretical cult, The Admonition.

I know the Ultra Marines are a really cool faction to play as, but sometimes it’s even more fun playing as the underdog trying to survive with your buddies.

As mentioned, Darktide will be like Vermintide, offering gamers four-player cooperative action. I’m actually interested in seeing more.

You can wishlist or follow the game for now, or wait for more info leading up to the 2021 release on the Xbox Series X and on Steam for PC.
