Crysis Remastered For PC Is An Epic Games Store Timed Exclusive

Crytek will release the “remastered” version of the 2007 first-person shooter Crysis across PC, PS4, and Xbox One on September 18th, 2020. However, there’s a catch, folks looking to play the “new and improved” version of the game on PC can only do so via the Epic Games Store.

The disingenuous and hypocritical Tim Sweeney and his restrictive client are looking to snatch up yet another game as per usual. This time, the most recent timed exclusive is Crysis Remastered.

In other words, it’s better for PC goers to stick with the older OG Crysis game that was released more than ten years ago and modding it if you don’t want to play the waiting game or support the Epic Games Store.

With that said, the source that brought forth the news of Crysis being an Epic Games Store timed exclusive comes from the official tech trailer preview. If you want to, you can check out the newly posted video right here that shows off global illumination, everyone’s favorite motion blur, ray tracing and more:

“The long wait is almost over – it is Official!
Crysis Remastered is coming to your favorite gaming platforms on 18th September 2020.

Here is your first Sneak-Peek of the tech trailer including, high-quality textures up to 8K resolution, Global Illumination (SVOGI), state-of-the-art depth fields, new light settings, motion blur, ray tracing and much more for a major visual upgrade.”

At this point, don’t be shocked to see Epic continuing the act of timed exclusivity moving forward, which means more games will release on Sweeney’s platform right away while other clients will gain access a year later than intended.

Lastly, Crysis Remastered launched for the Nintendo Switch back on July 23rd, 2020. The remastered version of the decade-old first-person shooter will drop on September 18th across PC via the Epic Games Store, PS4, and Xbox One.
