Infernal Radiance Impressions

(Disclaimer: CD Key provided for free)

At first, Infernal Radiance struck me as a game possessing an innate quality, but not one that jived with my tastes. Continuing onward, this became increasingly obvious to me, and even as issues separate from my tastes arose, I do not believe any amount of improvement would overall change this issue.

Infernal Radiance left early access earlier this month, yet a few issues indicate it could use another month or so of refinements and improvements to bring it to completion. At its core, the game has a dedicated Christian perspective with an amusing sense of humor. As I did not venture far into the game -hence impressions, not a review – I cannot confirm whether the game maintains the trend. Still, the humor is not at Christianity’s expense or presents a mockery of its influences from my experience.

Art direction is a tad surrealist, a near-perfect complement towards the lore and undertones of the world. For you see, humanity has once against opted to make Hell our battery. If it is going to be a wellspring of pain and suffering, it might as well make itself useful and generate power for us as well. Owe, but the best-laid plans of mice and industrialists often go astray, and the power plant explodes, covering the island in demonic radioactive hellfire.

Don’t worry. We’ve developed the Prayer Station, a space age technology that will allow us to phase out hell energy. Well, phase it out if we can stop the central power plant from sending a wave of hellfire across the planet.

Enter you a full-blown cardinal, sent to exorcise the demonic presence from the island. It sounds like satire, but this is entirely on the up and up. Worldbuilding and writing were arguably my favorite parts of the world. As experienced not all that funny, but when you have to explain it to other people, then its absurdity hits you putting a smile on your face.

That though, is where the fun ends. Combat is simple yet broken. You have an attack, reflect, holy water, and prayers (powers) that you can use. Except the game doesn’t show you the key mapping, so using prayers resulted in me having to hit away at keys until I got lucky. Reflecting attacks at enemies does not damage them, instead it drains their willpower. In theory, this is supposed to slow and even halt their attacks. In practice, it does nothing, rendering enemy willpower a meaningless stat as they will continuously send attacks in a regular pattern.

Your action is set on a cooldown that can be modified by stats. Stats that won’t track what you’ve invested into, but you do get a point every time you level up. Leveling up is based on the damage you’ve done and is likely scripted to the game’s progress as enemies cannot heal.

With each successful hit, you get a boost that decreases the cooldown timer. Again, this is in theory. In practice, it worked sporadically. Sometimes I’d get the boost, and sometimes I would not. Sometimes I’d get the boost without having earned it. Other times I would be denied the boost despite having earned a significant combo.

This zapped a lot of the fun from the experience. Adding to my previously mentioned lack of interest in the game lead to a point where I was just done with the game. Which is sad, as there is passion in this project. It isn’t some shovelware cash grab designed to bilk people out of money. Art and writing are solid, so were it not for the gameplay issues, I’d likely recommend this to people who like this style of game. As it stands, check back in on the game in a few months and see if the launch issues have been resolved.

Could Virtual Reality Be the Future of Online Gambling?

The online gambling industry has developed rapidly over the course of the last two decades. When online casinos were established in the mid-90s, they were only accessible through the desktop and there were very few providers. Since then, this industry has embraced a lot of changes that have actually benefited the business as well as the players. From casino websites to software designed for computers, and now mobile gambling apps, the online gambling industry has come a long from where it had begun. Along with the online casinos, many betting sites site like csgobook.com have emerged in the market. The latest virtual reality (VR) tech is being incorporated by many business sectors, and online gambling is no exception.

Casino games on online platforms are all fun, but many users used to complain that they don’t feel the real gambling experience. However, with VR games and VR gadgets, players can have enriched gameplay. This is the reason why all the popular online casinos are adopting this innovation.

The Concept of VR

To understand how virtual reality can transform and revolutionize online casinos, let’s take a look at how it works. Virtual reality describes the representation of our or another reality in a virtual, i.e., digital, dimension. This basically means that there are no limits to creativity as we can see through video games or animated films. In a nutshell, players would get the experience of being in a real casino with virtual reality.

Virtual Reality in Online Casinos

Virtual Reality enables completely no limits to creativity to enable a realistic gaming experience from home. Three-dimensional casino rooms, interactive games, and the possibility of interacting with other visitors like in a kind of video game are the key points here. In principle, there are no limits to the possibilities, which could be particularly advantageous for casinos where the entertainment factor is particularly imperative. Remember the free drinks and the bright colors of the slot machines in Vegas casinos. By integrating virtual reality, the digital experience of the online casino can be made more realistic than ever before.

Alternatively, it could also be the case that the games offered there deviate completely from the possibilities and limits of the physical world and thus open up completely new promises. And virtual reality also opens up numerous new potentials with regard to personalization, as special offers can no longer be written on a sign, but can be displayed directly in your field of vision and thus adapted to your gaming behavior. Artificial intelligence could be a driving factor for this because it enables the ability to show personalized offers by quickly adapting to individual parameters.

Bottom line

As you can see, virtual reality represents a potential revolution for online gambling. The developers can create a totally new experience for the player with the help of this technology. This can result in numerous interesting and different interpretations. Imagine, for example, that the player is playing a new form of poker in real-time with their hands against opponents from the other end of the world. As you can see, despite the current focus on mobile gaming for the gaming industry, interesting times are ahead.

Eternal Radiance Review

Disclaimer: CD Key was provided for free

Eternal Radiance’s title page is nothing special.  Upon booting the game, players are treated to a lovely, all too familiar JRPG background featuring three options: New Game, Options, Exit. It is a simple screen that embodies the quintessential essence of classic JRPGs. Gone was I when the title music began to play. I had received a package notification and got up to collect it from my porch when the music began to play. Continue reading “Eternal Radiance Review”

The Falconeer Launches for Series X and PC

The Falconeer

Flashback with me for a moment to when YouTuber ItsAGundam was covering the ongoing Bethesda paid mod fiasco and its fallout. In the public eye, outrage from the consumer was constant, and modders who had their work stolen were beginning to discuss taking legal action against Steam and Bethesda for selling their work. As ItsAGundam would report, behind the scenes, many of the modders considered this stunt the final straw.

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin Launches November 10th

Sakuna of Rice and Ruin Nintendo Switch

A while back, a quaint and colorful Japanese game came to our attention. Sakuna of Rice and Ruin set players as a banished harvest goddess who must grow food for people who she is now with while simultaneously fighting hulking monstrosities and various other monsters in side-scrolling action. Perhaps it was the unique combo as I am a sucker for both, or it was the colorful and vibrant art style, but I eagerly awaited the game’s western release. Then I waited and waited some more.

Activision Removes Tiananmen Square Clip From Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War After China Bans Trailer

It looks like all those people that kept calling Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War “Based” and “red-pilled” are now eating crow because Activision and Treyarch have censored themselves to lick up all of China’s testicular secretions from the filthy ground. As of recent, the official Call of Duty YouTube channel released a cut trailer of the official Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War video, and it’s missing the Tiananmen Square footage given that China banned the trailer for potentially provoking “public grievances.” Continue reading “Activision Removes Tiananmen Square Clip From Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War After China Bans Trailer”
