Koei Tecmo And Team Ninja Want To Make Nioh Even Bigger

Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja released an “action role-playing game” called Nioh at the beginning part of 2017 for PS4 and later followed that version up with a PC release on November 7th. The game garnered a favorable reception, and it seems that Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja want to play on that reception and make Nioh “even bigger”.

If you recall during the early part of September, you will remember that the Playstation.blog made mention of Nioh’s final DLC: Bloodshed’s End. Picking up from the last adventure, Defiant Honor, the final DLC followed the brave warrior into a situation where yet another war broke out just months after the winter campaign. This is the final phase of the Sengoku-era, and the end of the protagonist’s journey.

Thanks to ryokutya2089.com we learn about a featured topic in the latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation titled “Creator Interviews” that more Nioh will come in the future.

It’s not clear if Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja will follow-up on the 2017 game by making a sequel, prequel or spin-off later down the line, but we do know that from the post by said publication that the “action role-playing game” will expand.

According to Koei Tecmo Games’ Yosuke Hayashi — who took part in the creator Interviews — gamers and fans alike should keep an eye out in the future. Here’s what Hayashi had to say during the talk with Dengeki PlayStation:

“I want Nioh to become even bigger. Please keep an eye out in the future.”

If Nioh expands or whatever Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja decide to call it in the future, we do know that it can’t be more DLC given that Bloodshed’s End was and still is billed as the final DLC.

The true question is, would you like to see a new title of Nioh or an expansion of said game on other platforms?
