At the turn of the 1900s anti-competition laws strangled the competition of growing monopolistic industries that treated their employees abysmally. G/O Media New Owners Of Kotaku, Gizmodo, The Onion Lays Off 25 Staff

The new owners of the former Gawker verticals have started laying off staff shortly after acquiring the outlets from Univision for less than $50 million, as reported by the New York Post.
