In what must be one of the greatest disappointments of the year (for me at least) I don’t have a lot of good things to say about Extinction. I first saw it advertised around a year ago and the still images made it look very cool. I was completely sold on the idea of a more complex, technically engaging version of Attack on Titan, perhaps featuring challenging Souls-like game play and strong replay value against a bold, visually stunning backdrop. Extinction, Giant Orc-Slaying RPG Now Available For PC, PS4, Xbox One

The action-RPG from Iron Galaxy Games and Modus Games called Extinction, is now available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The game combines elements from Attack on Titan with Shadow of the Colossus, while also including traditional open-world exploration, all to make up a unique experience centered around saving the world using a special sword. Extinction Reminds Players That It Doesn’t Include Microtransactions Or Loot Boxes

A new trailer for the upcoming game Extinction was rolled out recently from Maximum Games and Iron Galaxy Games. One of the first things that the trailer gets out of the way is that it does not include microtransactions. It’s a sad time we live in where companies now have to actively advertise that they don’t have microtransactions, mostly because they’ve become so prominent in AAA games these days, usually with shills using the excuse that without microtransactions publishers like EA and Activision wouldn’t make enough money to cover development costs.
